The festival season has already kicked off in full speed! After a short trip to Barcelona for Primavera Sound, we head back to the Iberian Peninsula – this time in the north, to the Basque countryside. Best known for the Guggenheim Museum of Contemporary Art (designed by Frank Gehry himself), its delicious cuisine and cool surf spots, our next destination has also been home to the BBK Live music festival since 2006. Of course we’re talking about Bilbao!
Once again, we are looking forward to three days (and mostly nights) filled with music, art and all that against the backdrop of the spectacular location. From the very beginning, the festival has been held in a custom-built complex on the slopes of Mount Cobetas, located southwest of the city.
Florence and the Machine, Alt-J, Childish Gambino, Bomba Estéreo, Cigarettes After Sex, The xx, The Chemical Brothers, David Byrne, Friendly Fires, Gorillaz, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, John Talabot and Modeselektor are just some of the names we’ve got our eye on and can’t wait to hear. In total, over 80 artists and bands will perform on the festival’s seven stages.
So get your dancing shoes ready and see you in Bilbao between the 12th and 14th of July. Laister arte!
