Jazzbeats at Belgrade Jazz Festival

After celebrating 50 years since its founding and successfully overcoming two difficult pandemic years without interrupting festival editions in 2020 and 2021, the Belgrade Jazz Festival continues to present the best contemporary jazz from around the world. Under the motto JAZZBEATS, in its 38th edition from 26 to 30 October, it will host artists who push the boundaries of jazz and bring genre diversity – Nubya Garcia , Avishai Cohen Quartet, Omar Sosa Trio & Big Bend RTS, Immanuel Wilkins Quartet, Enrico Morello, Lars Danielsson & Liberetto, HI5, Steven Bernstein – Sexmob and many more.

A total of 16 concerts within 6 programs featuring more than 100 musicians from 5 continents and presenting the most talented artists from the Serbian jazz scene. The main program this year will include concerts by 5 Serbian artists – 1 solo performance, 3 bands and 2 big bands, which is a record number in the recent history of the event, reflecting the rise of Serbian jazz on the world stage, with the constant acclaim that young local artists receive throughout Europe and the world.

This year, the focus is on young performers, who make up two thirds of the programme: since its relaunch in 2005, aware of the educational role that cultural events play in nurturing new generations of audiences, the festival has sought to support and be a platform for young jazz artists. The programme will feature artists who currently represent the top names in the jazz world, as well as several names from the older generation who have had a significant impact on the development of the genre in the 21st century. This year the festival will also pay special attention to orchestral jazz.

We can’t wait and are counting down the hours until October 26th, when Belgrade will once again be Jazz!

Tickets for the entire festival, as well as for individual concerts, can be found here: www.tickets.rs.
